Thank You Volunteers!

Our annual ski event at Waterville Valley is our biggest function of the year for Wednesday's Child. It features hundreds of racers and capacity crowds at the conference center later. Nearly 700 people gathered after the races from 5-8pm for the awards ceremony, recognition of good deeds by good people, the silent auction and grand raffle, a 15 minute film on the day's fun, the drawing for the Volvo SUV, and the presentation of checks from Volvo and Wendy's.

It couldn't happen without the help of a number of volunteers (there is no paid staff for the event). Marci and Jack are lucky to have four key coordinators: Joanne Bemis, Azita Ghahramani, Phil Boire and Pete Wilson. They coordinate the efforts of some terrific people: Randi and Gary Tanguay, Lisa and Steve O'Brien, Corina and Kris Hopkins, Ken Phillips of Yankee Magazine, Ian and Tracy of Montreal, Big Mike Rudenauer, Rick, Kelly and Brian Bemis, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Tom Gross and Lenny Emory.

This year we also were joined by our attorney John Burke (who does Wednesday's Child work gratis) and WBZ Radio Program Director Peter Casey (who helped us with 160 30-second spots on WBZ radio).

Thousands of hours of work go into this year effort to raise money for special needs adoption. Marci and I are very proud of all of our friends who do so much.

The last 23 years of the Jack Williams Ski Race for Wednesday's Child has raised more than $5-million.
