24TH ANNUAL WEDNESDAY'S CHILD SKI RACE
BRINGS IN $390,000 TO HELP SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION!

Forecasters warned heavy rains could impact the annual Jack Williams Ski Race for Wednesday's Child at Waterville Valley, NH. But when the racers and volunteers gathered at the mountain that Saturday morning, March 8th, the sun was shining and the skies were blue. The snow was perfect, and people came to help Wednesday's Child, and were rewarded with perfect snow conditions. A half hour after the last racer crossed the finish line the dreaded rains finally started, but by then every thing was set.

Families crowded into the White Mountain Conference Center that afternoon and partied into the night. Wendy's presented a check for $220,000, raised by the sale of one-dollar coupon books with the proceeds going to Wednesday's Child. Volvo helped us raise $150,000 by giving us an XC 90 SUV that was raffled off by selling $100 a chance tickets. The winner was Arthur Baker, of Falmouth, Ma. Also thanks to American Airlines, Yankee Magazine, Coors Light, Waterville Valley, WBZ-TV, WBZ radio, Clark Appliances, and Dr. Pepper.

Azita Ghahramani was given the Ruthie Antonides Volunteer Award.

Thanks to all our volunteers and all of you who supported us this year. $390,000 was raised!!
